Abstract

The article examines the linguistic mechanisms of representing emotions in a literary text, taking into account their multi-level organization. Contemporary scholarly approaches to the study of emotivity are analyzed, including text-centered, emotiological, cognitive, stylistic, narratological, and pragmatic perspectives. It is established that the transmission of emotions is realized through the interaction of lexical, syntactic, and stylistic means, as well as through the narrative organization of the text. Particular attention is paid to the role of conceptualization and metaphorization of emotions within the linguistic worldview. It is demonstrated that in fiction, emotions are not only reflected but also constructed in the reader’s consciousness. The findings confirm the relevance of a comprehensive approach to the analysis of emotivity as an integral property of the text. Keywords: literary text, emotivity, pragmatics, conceptualization, metaphorization of emotions
