Abstract

This study presents a simple model within the effective mass approximation to describe the effect of an external electric field on the energy structure and wave functions of quasiparticles in type II hemispherical quantum dots. The case of an electric field perpendicular to the base of a hemispherical quantum dot is considered. The solutions of the Schrodinger equation were obtained by two methods: finite element method and the matrix method. The last method allowed to determine the partial contribution of the basic states in the new states of quasiparticles obtained as a result of the action of an electric field.
