Abstract

The paper investigates antonymic relations within the phonosemantic system of contemporary German, with particular emphasis on sound-imitative verbs. It explores the role of acoustic parameters, including frequency, intensity, duration and pitch in structuring semantic oppositions. The study distinguishes explicit and implicit antonymy, including enantiosemy, and demonstrates the multidimensional nature of antonymic relations in German onomatopoeic vocabularу.
